You taught me such beautiful things.. To try and help and not hurt, to make the most of people while they are still around. I have so many apologies for you my sweetheart. That I wasn't patient enough. That I had to leave you and Buddi during that long hospital and rehab stretch.

And yes, Penny, I feel a bit guilty as there are things I can do now that I wasn't able to do when you were still with us. Like eating in the sitting room. Like eating generally! Like being out of the house for longer stretches. Like being away overnight. Or for a few nights. But Penny I would swap all that to have you back even for a short while to kiss and cuddle you and admire your soft furry paws. Before you left and before you became unwell I could never imagine myself living without you. And I can only think that in your warm velvet heart you are sending me the strength to pick up my life without you.

I love you Penny. I love you always and forever. Thank you for being in my life. I'll take good care of your little sister. I love you.
