About the Fund

We believe that no family should ever have to say goodbye to a beloved companion simply because they cannot afford lifesaving care.

That’s why we created the Pawsible Care Fund — a joint initiative between Rainbow Bridge Veterinary Services and Roundwood Veterinary Practice, dedicated to helping pets receive essential treatment when their owners are experiencing financial hardship.

The Pawsible Care Fund offers compassionate, needs-based support for clients facing unexpected veterinary costs that stand between their pets and the care they urgently require. When a treatable condition threatens a pet’s life, and financial limitations put that care out of reach, the Fund steps in to make the impossible… pawsible.

Supported by community donations and contributions from both practices, the Pawsible Care Fund is reserved for truly critical cases where financial assistance may prevent the heartbreaking decision of euthanasia. Our team carefully evaluates each situation to ensure that funds are provided where they can make the greatest impact.

At times, the kindest and most compassionate choice we can make for a beloved pet is to help them pass peacefully at home. We understand how emotionally overwhelming this decision can be — and how financial worries can add stress during an already heartbreaking moment. To support families facing financial hardship during end-of-life care, the Pawsible Care Fund may also provide limited assistance toward the cost of home euthanasia. Our goal is to ensure that every family can choose the most compassionate option for their pet, without financial pressures forcing delays or unnecessary distress.

Eligibility to Receive Assistance

The Pawsible Care Fund is designed for clients of Rainbow Bridge Veterinary Services and Roundwood Veterinary Practice whose pets require urgent, lifesaving treatment but who are experiencing genuine financial difficulty.

To ensure funds are used responsibly and impactfully, the following guidelines apply.

For contributions toward costs of medical and/or surgical treatment:

1) The pet must have a treatable, time-sensitive, and life-threatening condition.

2) All other financial options — such as payment plans, insurance, or credit facilities — will be considered first.

3) Assistance is provided only when lack of funds may otherwise result in euthanasia of a treatable pet.

For contributions toward to costs of home euthanasia:

1) The pet is suffering from a terminal or untreatable condition.

2) Euthanasia is recommended by a veterinary professional as the most humane option.

3) A peaceful passing at home would significantly reduce stress and suffering for the pet, and/or the pet cannot be safely or humanely transported to a veterinary clinic for euthanasia because of their condition.

Funding decisions are made by the veterinary team based on medical urgency, prognosis, and financial need.

Contributions are typically partial rather than full treatment coverage, allowing the Fund to help as many families as possible.

Our goal is to provide compassionate support during a crisis — never to judge or shame.

If you are struggling, please contact us. We are here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of cases qualify?

The Pawsible Care Fund is reserved for urgent, life-threatening, and treatable conditions where delaying treatment or declining care would result in suffering or euthanasia of a pet. It can also help with costs of home euthanasia, where transport of the pet to a veterinary clinic would cause them further pain or suffering.

Does the Fund cover routine care?

No. It does not cover vaccinations, neutering, parasite prevention, dentals, chronic conditions, or non-urgent treatment. It is strictly for critical, lifesaving interventions.

Does the fund cover cremation costs?
When the fund is used for euthanasia, it may also contribute toward the cost of standard cremation. The fund does not cover the cost of private or individual cremation.

What if I am not currently a client of Rainbow Bridge Veterinary Services or Roundwood Veterinary Practice?

Anyone is welcome to apply for assistance from the Pawsible Care Fund. However, any treatments or euthanasia must be carried out by Roundwood Veterinary Practice or Rainbow Bridge Veterinary Services. The Fund does not contribute toward fees incurred with any other veterinary practice.

How much financial help can I receive?

Support amounts vary based on the pet’s prognosis, treatment required, and available funds. Typically, the Fund provides partial assistance to stretch resources as far as possible.

How do I apply?

Speak to a member of our veterinary team and we will guide you through the process compassionately, assess your situation, and determine whether support is available.

Can anyone donate to the Pawsible Care Fund?

Absolutely. The Fund is sustained through community generosity and practice contributions.

Is my donation used directly for pet care?

Yes. 100% of donations support veterinary treatment for eligible cases.

Is the Fund guaranteed to help everyone who applies?

We do our very best, but the Pawsible Care Fund has limited resources. That’s why each case is carefully reviewed to ensure the Fund is used responsibly and to ensure the greatest impact.

Donations

Every day, pets arrive in need of urgent medical care that could save or extend their lives. Unfortunately, some families are forced to face the unimaginable — choosing between essential treatment, and letting their beloved companion go because they cannot afford the cost of that treatment.

Sometimes, home euthanasia is the kindest option we can offer, especially for pets who cannot be humanely transported to a clinic due to the severity of their condition. But even this compassionate option may feel out of reach for families facing financial hardship.

Your donation can change that.

By contributing to the Pawsible Care Fund, you directly help a pet receive lifesaving treatment when finances stand in the way. Even a small gift can mean the difference between loss and hope, between heartbreak and healing.

And for pets facing terminal illness or unmanageable suffering, your generosity ensures they can pass peacefully in the place they feel safest, and provides great comfort and compassion to a grieving family.

100% of donations go directly toward veterinary care for pets in critical need.
